Anderson Cooper May be Set to Replace Oprah

Rumors are swirling that Anderson Cooper is in talks with Warner Brothers and Telepictures Productions to fill the much-coveted TV time slot that the queen of daytime has occupied for 24 seasons. The show is said to be a mix of current events and pop culture, but who cares! We’ll tune in just to watch the silver fox. [HitDan]

Update: It’s official, Anderson Cooper is heading to daytime. He will takeover Oprah’s time slot for the fall 2011 season. “Over the course of the past few years I’ve had the opportunity to work on a number of daytime programs,” Cooper said in a statement. “It’s fun and interesting to work in daytime television. The format is unique and you can really go in-depth on a wide range of fascinating and compelling stories.”

“Anderson Cooper is one of the most distinctive voices of the next generation of television,” Ken Werner, president of Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution said in a statement. “His popularity and skills uniquely position him to be the next big syndication franchise.” [NYDaily]
