Parties, pools, and bears, oh my! Key West’s Bear Fest 2012 will gather bears, cubs, and their admirers for a long weekend of fun from October 4-7. The annual celebration’s schedule includes more than 20 events ranging from pool parties at LGBT resorts and clubs to “Bear-e-Oke” and hearty dinners at leading island restaurants. Bear Fest’s celebrity host is comedian Paul J. Williams, acclaimed for his work on the Logo cable television network and with RSVP Vacations cruises. Williams is scheduled to appear at the festival’s major events and star in a standup comedy performance at 9 P.M. on October 5. Purchase your weekend pass online or pay at the door for individual events. The host hotel is the lush and tropical gay resort Island House, which will host late night “happy ending” parties each night. See full event list after the jump…

Sunday, October 7: Who can get tired of pool parties with a bunch of rugged and beefy bears and cubs? At 801 Bourbon (801 Duval St.), come for the Bear Bingo, Bear-e-Oke and a Bear Drag Show to tickle your fur. Top off the weekend with the Bear-Beer-Bust at Saloon One.
