Classic Gay Film ‘My Beautiful Laundrette’ to Become US TV Show

My Beautiful Laundrette will become a ten-episode US television series. The film, which involves a love story between a British-Pakistani man and a punk originally starred Gordon Warnecke and Daniel Day-Lewis will be written by The Big Sick and Silicon Valley‘s Kumail Nanjiani.

Oscar-winner Stephen Gaghan is said to be on board to direct with original writer Hanif Kureishi and Alec Berg.
