Copenhagen, Denmark has won the bid to host 2021’s World Pride event. “Copenhagen Pride has expanded and developed in many positive ways,” the city said in an official release. “We maintain a strong international profile and have built strong international partnerships, and this is why we believe that we’re very suited to host WorldPride in 2021.”
The next celebration will be in 2019 in New York City and will coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots.
World Pride began in 2000 in Rome when InterPride decided to create an event that would bring pride organizations together, share ideas, and unite the LGBT community.
