Gay Swedish Olympian’s Surprise Italian Engagement Sweeps Internet

When Patrick Huber told his boyfriend Jimmy Sjödin—former member of Sweden’s Olympic diving team—to pack his bags, he had no idea what was in store. Sjödin wasn’t even aware where the two would be traveling to. They drove through the Italian Alps from Munich and arrived arrived in Venice, Italy.

Of course, the couple enjoyed a gondola ride through the city, and Huber hired a Flytographer (someone who you can hire to take photos of you and a loved one a trip) who was posing as a tour guide. Then, Hubert proposed.

“I had no idea or clue that this could or would be an engagement trip,” he told Huffington Post. “All I can recall was something about wanting to always be there for me, to protect me and be my family and wanting to be my ‘forever boyfriend.’”
