It has only been a short six months ago that Jacob Rudolph revealed to his classmates he was gay during his speech at a school assembly. That very speech has had over 1.7 million views after being uploaded to YouTube. This high school teen made history and now is taking his pride to Trenton, New Jersey where he will testify in support of banning the use of conversion therapy on minors in order to cure them of being gay. This Thursday, Jacob will be at the State House Annex urging New Jersey Assembly Committee on Children and Women, the largest civil rights organization in New Jersey, to support the pending legislation. Thus far New Jersey Gov. Christie has said he does not believe in the therapy, but has yet to comment or take action on banning it. Jacob continuously sends Gov. Christie, Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno, and Gov. Christie’s press secretary, Michael Drewniak signatures from Jacob’s petition that supports the ban, which you can find on Change.org. The governor has received over 115,000 signatures and counting. “Now’s our chance to finally end gay conversion therapy on minors,” said Rudolph.
