It’s not just about the food at Brooklyn’s newest hot spot, Cow & Clover, which brings local ingredients to seasonal wood-fired cooking by Chef Morgan Schofield (il Buco, North End Grill, Blue Hill), but restaurant-goers will take delight in their delicious and festival cocktails this holiday season. After warming up in the 100-seat spacious restaurant, we got to sample one of their insanely delicious eggnogs. We liked it so much, we stole the recipe for you.
In a large bowl beat yolks with egg beater until light. Add sugar and beat until thick. Stir in milk, then rum. Beat egg whites until peaked. Fold into mixture. Pour into a punch bowl and chill for at least 2 hours. Beat cream until it softly peaks, then gently fold into chilled mixture. Chill again for at least 2 more hours. When serving, garnish with nutmeg and a cinnamon stick.
