There is no shame in completely ignoring the depths of winter (and depths of snow) by pretending you’re in South Beach. While we all can’t be fortunate enough to be in a tropical destination this weekend, we thought we’d bring a little Florida sunshine to you. Thanks to The Plymouth Hotel, located in the emerging Collins Park cultural district, we’ve got their restaurant Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill’s recipe for a tropical classic—the Mai Tai.
Here is the recipe to try out at home before you head to this Miami Beach Art Deco icon that has been reimagined by renowned designer Fernando Santangelo.
5 oz. House Rum Blend
1 oz. Giffard Triple Sec
1 oz. Giffard Orgeat
0.5 oz. Lime Juice
Combine all ingredients in shaker
Shake hard with ice
Strain over ice and pour into large fishbowl glass
Garnish with Orange Peel/Shiso/Cherry Handroll, pinned with toothpick, and two straws
