Google Offers Free Wi-Fi to New York City’s Chelsea

Hey gay travelers, next time you’re out and about in the New York City neighborhood of Chelsea, you can thank Google for your free Internet access—yup you can now download your digital version of Passport on the go. In a joint press conference with Mayor Michael Bloomberg and New York Senator Charles Shumer, Google announced that they will be bringing free Wi-Fi outdoors available for free and providing indoor coverage for public housing units. The announcement has many speculating that New York City may be Google’s next frontier for their ultra-fast broadband service, Google Fiber. [CNN]
