It has been a long fight for marriage equality in Hawaii, and now the state’s legislature is holding a special session to decide whether to bring marriage equality to the Rainbow State. Governor Neil Abercrombie called the special session today in the hopes that Hawaii will become the next state to legalize gay marriage and bring the state in line with the recent ruling by the Supreme Court to repeal DOMA. According to the AP: “Lawmakers and followers of Hawaii’s Legislature — which is heavily Democrat — say they’re confident a bill will pass, but not certain.”
