What can you do to lend a hand to the movement to end LGBT homelessness in America?
There are plenty of ways to get involved on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, or Give OUT Day, the only national day devoted to giving in support of the gay community. In an effort help the True Colors Fund, and other wonderful LGBT organizations, Give OUT Day encourages everyone to donate as much as they can, “no matter if it’s $10 or $100.”
Youth homelessness is an issue of disproportionate relevance to the LGBT community, and more specifically, for our transgender brothers and sisters of color. To find our how you can play a part in championing the True Colors Fund, take a tip from the Fund:
To participate, you can:
Sign up to be a fundraiser and start a page for the True Colors Fund
Ask family and friends to make a $10 donation to the True Colors Fund through your fundraising page
Go to the Give OUT Day page and donate whatever you’re comfortable giving.
Spread the word to your loved ones and let them know that Give OUT Day is fast approaching. Let’s make it happen!
On Give OUT Day tomorrow, more than $100,000 in prizes will be given to a variety of civil rights groups by category, divvied up into hyperlocal and national leaderboards, and with pools specifically for small organizations serving the needs of people of color.
