Marriage equality advocates in Minnesota are confident that they have enough votes to pass a gay and lesbian marriage bill this Thursday. “We are confident that the necessary votes to extend the freedom to marry for same-sex couples have been secured and that HF1054 will pass the House floor,” said Minnesotans United For All Families Manager Richard Carlbom. If it passes, Governor Mark Dayton said that he will sign the bill into law. There has been momentum in Minnesota for same-sex marriage ever since voters rejected a ballot initiative in November that would have made same-sex marriage unconstitutional in the state.
