For the first time, The Las Vegas Strip will turn purple for Spirit Day this Friday. The action against LGBT youth bullying furthers the city’s commitment to welcoming the LGBT community. Clark County, Nevada Commission and the Las Vegas City Council will present GLAAD president Hernadon Graddick with a proclamation at the Las Vegas sign that will turn purple that evening. Vegas’ show of support will continue with the turning purple of Caesars Entertainment, MGM Resorts International, Wynn Resorts, Las Vegas Sands Corporation, Treasure Island, The Tropicana Las Vegas, and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. To further enhance the lighting effect, The Fremont Street Experience will also go purple by lighting the Viva Vision canopy and the four-block span.
In Vegas this weekend? The Marquee Nightclub at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will host the official GLAAD after party.
