Without much fanfare, Laverne Cox and Katherine Heigl’s CBS drama Doubt premiered and was canceled in less than two weeks. The show was to mark Heigl’s
first second attempt at returning to the silver screen after Grey’s Anatomy and the very first primetime show to feature a transgender lead. The show premiered February 15th and only received a .76 rating (CBS did little to promote the show), and the second episode saw a steep drop to just .55. The show was the mysteriously dropped from the following week’s schedule. There are still 11 unaired episodes (including one that involves a groundbreaking romance with Cox), but CBS has not confirmed when or where viewers could see them. [Jez]
We think CBS pulled the plug way too soon.
