When I was little, I would beg and beg to hear “Where the Wild Things Are.” And when I couldn’t get my mother to utter for the millionth time: “The night Max wore his wolf suit and made mischief of one kind…” I would grab the book myself, stare at the pictures, and drift off to a world so whimsical and brilliant, I’d often not want to return. So, it is with great sadness today that we say goodbye to the irreplaceable, openly gay Maruice Sendak, a man that has inspired millions of little adventures with his fantastical stories. For a thoroughly interesting look at the Sendak, check out the obit at the New York Times.
