For the many legal strides that LGBT couples have made this year and will continue to make, the issue of fair treatment of gay couples by wedding vendors has been a prevailing one this year. First, it was a Washington flower shop that refused to cater to same-sex couples, then a Baked by Melissa sweets shop in Oregon. Well, far be it from New Orleans to sour any couple’s nuptials, because the New Orleans Hotel Collection has gone above and beyond to make lesbian and gay couples feel right at home in the Big Easy.

Earlier this year, the Collection put together a “Love Wins” destination-wedding sweepstakes together to celebrate the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling, offering an expenses-paid dream wedding in New Orleans to one lucky couple, a $10,000 value complete with a courtyard ceremony at French Quarter gem, the Bourbon Orleans. Today, winners Lindsey Bell and Megan Haupt are hours away from from finally tying the knot as friends and family file into the St. Anne Cottage of the hotel.
Thanks to wedding specialist Megan Emboulas, the brides to be didn’t even have to lift a finger before Lindsey and Megan came out from Philadelphia to say “I Do” in New Orleans. Here’s to the happy couple!
