New ‘Powerpuff Girls’ to be Voiced by Lesbian South African Singer

Toya Delazy has been announced as the voice of a brand0new Powerpuff Girls is the voice of a new Powerpuff Girl. The lesbian South African singer will voice a new black yet-to-be-named character who wears purple. The five-part mini-movie titled Power of Four is the first reboot in nearly a decade, and fans were skeptical of the announcement. Though, after a still of the film was released, revealing the fourth character, fans were overjoyed with the inclusiveness.

Senior Vice President at Turner Broadcasting in Southern Europe and Africa, Jamie Ondarza said of the addition: “Toya is definitely a perfect fit as the fourth Powerpuff Girl. She is confident, bubbly and quirky, all the values that we are familiar with, love and appreciate. We have a lot of surprises up our sleeves,”

Delazy gained notoriety in the States when she took home a 2013 BET award for best international artist.
