Reese Witherspoon to Take on Hate-Group Westboro Baptist in New Film

Reese Witherspoon is not unfamiliar to telling real-life struggles of strong women on the big screen (June Carter, Cheryl Strayed), so her next project shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to her fans. Witherspoon has announced that she will be producing a film called This Above All, a movie that will tell the story of Megan Phelps-Roper. The granddaughter of “God Hates Fags” Fred Phelps who became a media sensation when she publicly left her family and the hate-group The Westboro Baptist Church. The film will be based on an amazing article New Yorker article titled Unfollow and will be directed by Marc Webb and written by Nick Hornby. [Deadline]
