Ryan Murphy’s new show that will feature five transgender actors—a record in the entertainment industry—Pose, will expose the drama, escape, and, of course, fun of New York City’s famous ball scene.
MJ Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Hailie Sahar, and Angelica Ross have already been cast, as well as Ryan Jamaal Swain, Billy Porter, and Dyllon Burnside.
The LGBT factor doesn’t end there as transgender activist Silas Howard is co-executive producer and Our Lady J and Janet Mock art in the process of writing the script!
“We are thrilled that POSE pushes the narrative forward by centering on the unique and under-told experiences of trans women and gay people of color…Ryan has assembled a strong team of storytellers and innovators to collaborate on telling this important narrative. As a Bronx-bred queer writer of color, I’m honored to aid in ushering this groundbreaking show into homes,” Steven Canals, co-creator, toldSteven Canals.
Ryan Murphy’s staple network FX will be airing the show.
Let the ball begin. Pose, FX Networks' new original series, premieres Sunday, June 3rd.
