The Seattle Art Fair is back this summer, promising once again to break records as the biggest art event in the city’s history! Founded by Microsoft’s Paul G. Allen, the art fair brings cutting-edge contemporary art to the backyard of so many of the nation’s tech titans… and arts-specific programming all over the city of Seattle. Perfect for tourists! August 3-6 will be the ideal long weekend to visit the gateway to the Pacific Rim.
The entire city will be activated that weekend with On- and Off- site programming for the Fair—like the installation of Jenny Holzer’s iconic The Survivor Series in the landmark Pioneer Square Visitors who want to marvel at Seattle’s historic Union Station will happen upon Pool (2017), a multifaceted installation of videos, performances, architectural models and sculptural platforms by Los Angeles-based Dylan Mira and Erika Vogt.
Those who buy tickets to the Seattle Art Fair will have artist talks and installations to peruse at The CenturyLink Field Event center, like the world premiere of Gerard & Kelly’s new film, Modern Living (2016-ongoing), a choreographic, two-channel installation.
