Everyone’s favorite dysfunctional California family, the Pfeffermans of Amazon’s Transparent, hits the high seas on a fun-filled cruise, giving the cruise industry a much-needed PR boost, according to Adage. The finale has the family enjoying all the amenities on board a Norwegian Cruise Line ship, with the family’s matriarch (transgender Maura, played by Jeffrey Tambor) taking a particular fondness to the ship.
The television show approached NCL to film on the ship. The company said to Adage: “Norwegian was pleased to be the location for the critically-acclaimed and groundbreaking series and, more importantly, for the family of characters to enjoy themselves and each other just as millions of other families do when they choose to sail with Norwegian Cruise Line, where guests have the freedom to vacation the way they choose,”
While we won’t give away everything that happens in the episode, the 30-minute plug shows that the ship’s wide-range of activities is perfect for a family with wide-ranging tastes like the modern-day family, the Pfeffermans.
