Tyler, The Creator Allegedly Comes Out in New Track on Album, Here are the Lyrics

Rapper and head of hip-hop collective Odd Future Tyler, The Creator has fans double checking the lyrics to a new song titled “Garden Shed” off his latest album, as it appears the California native has come out as gay. The rapper had once been under media scrutiny for his repeated use of homophobic lyrics, but the singer denied that he was ever gay, and even supported fellow Odd Future singer Frank Ocean who very publicly came out.

A few hours ago, a song titled “Garden Shed” was released and it contains lyrics that fans point to a lyrical coming out for the singer.

One website writes: “Garden shed for the garcons / Them feelings I was guarding” supposedly addresses “the garden shed as a metaphor for a closet, which derives from the phrase ‘coming out the closet.’” The word, “garçons,” meanwhile translates to “boys” in French.

Full lyrics below, what do you think?

[Chorus: Estelle]
Don’t kill the rose
Boy, it could move
Love every flower
Out the cocoon

[Verse 1]
You don’t have to hide
I can smell it in your eyes
That there’s something more to say
Them words
(Damn, run it back)

[Bridge: Estelle]
If I could, if I could
If you could
Find the words to say

(Find the words to say
Find the words)

Shed

[Chorus: Estelle]
Don’t kill the rose
Boy, it could move
Love every flower
Out the cocoon

[Verse 2]
Ayo
Garden shed, garden shed, garden shed, garden shed
For the garden
That is what I was hiding
That is what love I was I in
Ain’t no reason to pretend
Garden shed, garden shed, garden shed
Garden shed for the garcons
Them feelings I was guarding
Heavy on my mind
All my friends lost
They couldn’t read the signs
I didn’t wanna talk and tell em’ my location
And I didn’t wanna walk
Truth is, since you kid, I thought it was a phase
Thought it would be like the Frank poof, gone
But, it’s still going on
Big fan of the base 10
Polk a dot nose how it goes
Had to keep it on the subwoofer
A couple butterflies when I float
I was always like ehhh
Barely interested, but I went to my boys like bruh
This is a crucial subject matter
Sensitive like cooking batter
‘Till the temperature that’s rising
Stepping on that ladder
Tryna grab the rings of Saturn
I’m a plant it by the time you hear this
Chittin’ chatter bout to heat it
It will not fucking matter
