Hundreds of thousands of people gathered in Rome this past Saturday to protest gay marriage and the teaching of gender theories in school.

Working under the false notion that providing children with information will “turn” them rather than teach them acceptance or tolerance, bystanders were quick to voice their opinions against gay marriage.

As reported by Breitbart News Network, 41-year-old doctor Giuseppe Ripa had this to say, “In my children’s schools they are talking about families made up of two fathers or two mothers, without asking parents’ permission… It’s dangerous and wrong.”

Yet, it doesn’t seem like the protest will ultimately affect Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, whose push for a legalized same-sex unions is what initially sparked the protest.

In order to keep pace with the rest of Europe, Italy’s left-wing government is currently working to legalize same-sex unions by the end of July.
