Can’t make it out this winter to one of this year’s international gay ski events? If New York City is on your travel itinerary, you won’t even have to leave town to get your après-ski experience. The Sanctuary Hotel’s rooftop hotspot Haven has been decked out for the season as a snow-capped ski chalet that brings you right into the middle of those mountainous Midtown skyscrapers.

Tucked away just east of Times Square, Haven is a welcome respite from the holiday madness happening below. Take the “Stairway to Haven” and sneak off to one of the private chalets with a holiday cocktail and a round of s’mores (roasted by you over a miniature tabletop fire). Be sure to look up for the hourly snow show and watch the city lights disappear under a fabulous flurry.

Don’t leave without indulging your inner frat boy and lining up with three friends to knock back a signature Shot Ski—four shots served from the top of a ski. Before you know it, you’ll be arm-in-arm with some snow bunnies taking another. It’s a slippery slope, after all.
