A star is born again, and again, and again, and again.
Janet Gaynor received her second Academy Award nomination in 1937, it marked the return of Judy Garland after a four-year absence in 1954, a Golden Globe for Barbra Streisand in 1976, and now it may represent the first time Lady Gaga makes the transition onto the big screen as a serious Oscar contender. Warner Brothers has announced a remake of the classic film A Star is Born with Lady Gaga playing the iconic role of Esther Blodgett. She may have just the voice to capture the lyrical genius of Esther Harold Arden and Ira Gershwin. Bradley Cooper will make his directorial debut and will also star along Lady Gaga.
Production is set to begin early next year.
