Adam Lambert, who gained fame (though didn’t win) on American Idol, is set to perform his brand-new single on the final season of the worldwide hit show. The 34-year-old became a so successful from his sting on the reality singing competition in 2009 eventually became the first openly gay singer to ever debut an album at number one, and his new single, “Welcome to the Show,” could be his chance to reclaim that title.
In a radio interview, the singer said that he will perform the “uplifting anthem for the spring” on tonight’s episode.
“I asked Max Martin for help and he paired me up with two great writers and producers; Ali Payami, who worked with me on Ghost Town, and Swedish star Laleh who is also a featured vocalist on the track. I feel this song will give people strength to be exactly who they are.”
