One American family was expecting an educational and worthwhile holiday in Italy, but instead they became the center of an anti-gay controversy that has both Italians and Americans crying foul against a Tuscan museum. A gay couple and their child were refused entry into the Guarnacci Museum in Volterra when the two fathers requested a family ticket. Instead of receiving the discount the woman at the register shouted “A family is made of a man and a woman.” The couple soon took to Trip Advisor to share their insulting experience. The Italian press quickly took notice of the post and the incident was brought to the attention of the museum director who said “I did not know anything about it. Our museum stands for the inclusion of every kind of visitors. But I don’t have any freedom of choosing our pricing policies. So, it’s not my fault,” he said. [GSN]
