Things in the fictional town of Riverdale haven’t been quite the same since last April when a new kid named Kevin Keller walked into Riverdale High School. Keller became the first openly gay resident in Archie Comics and fans have already fallen in love with the blonde, so much so that it has been selling out. The overwhelming response, prompted the company to create a spin-off about the character, which dealt “with his background, including his relationship with his father, who serves in the military and is supportive of his son’s desire to follow in his footsteps,” according to the NY Times. Now, Archie Comics-Co. announced that Keller will get his own regular monthly series. Writer/artist, Dan Parent, who created the character, says that “He’s going to be the class president,” but adds, “There’s some adversity he’ll have to deal with.
