The LGBT community was looking for answers from Caitlyn Jenner yesterday after the Trump Administration put thousands of transgender students at risk by ending an Obama-era executive order that allowed trans* kids to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with. Jenner famously continued to support the Republicans through the 2016 election, voted for Trump, and attended the inauguration. Despite the anger from her close group of transgender friends and fans who agree that Republicans are not LGBT friendly, Jenner continued her support, but she was noticeably absent from the nationwide discussion of Trump’s latest attack on transgender youths.
Finally Jenner took to Twitter with a video that showed her anger with Trump’s decision to not care about transgender kids and captioned the video “Well @realDonaldTrump, from one Republican to another, this is a disaster. You made a promise to protect the LGBTQ community. Call me.”
She says in the video:
“I have a message for the trans kids of America: You’re winning. I know it doesn’t feel like it today or every day, but you’re winning,” Jenner said. “Very soon, we will win full freedom nationwide and it’s going to be with bipartisan support. You can help by checking out the National Center for Transgender Equality and letting Washington hear you loud and clear.”
As one of the country’s most visible transgender women, what do you think of Jenner’s response?
