That’s right, director Luca Guadagnino has confirmed that Call Me By Your Name will be getting a sequel after the film’s breakout success. It will apparently take inspiration from a section of the novel that wasn’t used in the first film when (SPOILER: the two meet up again in the United States).
The news was also confirmed by the movie’s star Armie Hammer who spoke about it at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Armie said: ‘It will happen because there are already people working on it and trying to make it happen.’
“I’m already conceiving the story with [author] André Aciman, and it’s gonna happen five or six years afterwards,” Guadagnino told USA Today. “It’s gonna be a new movie, a different tone.”
Guadagnino’s next big film will be the remake of Suspiria, which is being panned by critics.
