A Canadian government official acknowledged on Friday that the Canadian government is funding grassroots Ugandan organizations who have been fighting the passage of the “Kill the Gays” bill. While the official revealed the info under anonymity, he or she said that the country has given around $200,000 since November. Financial agreements between the Department of Foreign Affairs and local LGBT organizations were also uncovered by the National Post showing that the money is being put to use through the end of March.
