The LA PRIDE celebration is the largest gathering of the LGBT community in Southern California. This year’s event will be held June 7-9 in the beautiful West Hollywood Park.  Enjoy live entertainment on multiple stages, headline performances, all new dance venues, numerous exhibitors, food and drink vendors, and thousands of members of our vibrant and active community!  On Sunday, June 9, at 11:00 a.m., join over 400,000 participants, spectators and marchers at the annual LA PRIDE Parade, which gathers together a colorful and diverse look and showcases all that is great about the LGBT community. The parade travels westbound along Santa Monica Boulevard, from Crescent Heights Boulevard, to the main entrance of the LA PRIDE Festival at San Vicente Boulevard.

There will be a moment of silence at exactly 12:00 Noon (PDT) on Sunday, June 9, 2013 during the annual LA PRIDE Parade and Live Broadcast. After the moment of silence, make noise, whoop, holler, and yell so loud that we are heard all the way to the Capitol, to let the world know that we demand equal rights as guaranteed in our constitution! This year’s awardees include our straight ally 2012 Super bowl champion Brendon Ayanbadejo, an advocate for LGBT rights, Congressman Mark Takano, LA City Council member Bill Rosendahl, 11-year-old Zoey, who even in the face of bullying and endless teasing from both school officials and students, determinedly continues to live her life as she is and tells her story in the hopes of helping others persevere in living their authentic lives. LA Pride is sponsored by Passport Magazine. [LAP]
