New York State will celebrate the Capital Region’s first-ever Pride Ski Weekend running Jan. 20 – 21 at Belleayre Mountain in Highmount.
The Pride Center of the Capital Region is partnering with Belleayre Mountain, the Ulster County Tourism Office of Film, SKI NY and I LOVE NY LGBTQ+ for two days of slope-side fun. Special lift ticket packages will be available to registering guests which includes access to amazing events like an Après Ski Tea Dance with DJ RVMBA on Saturday from 4 – 7 p.m.
Dust off your skis or borrow some from the mountain’s equipment rentals and take a lesson at the Olympic Authority venue, or hit the black diamonds if you’re a vet on the slopes.
This event takes place in the Catskill mountains, a picturesque extension of the Hudson Valley with gorgeous views and cozy towns boasting great dining and festivity options. Belleayre’s property spans 174 acres in the mountains, includes the region’s only gondola lift, and offers a variety of trails for all ages and experience levels.
Executive Director of the Pride Center of the Capital Region, Nathaniel Gray said “We hope that this joyful event is an opportunity for people to make new friends and connections, shake off the cabin fever and discover wonderful spaces all across New York State to visit time and time again.”
The Pride Center of the Capital Region in Albany is the oldest continuously operating LGBTQ community center in the country, and continues to serve the community through events and programming to unify and support LGBTQ people of all racial backgrounds, ethnicities and genders across nine New York counties.
