It was a horrific attack at one of the Middle East’s most celebrated Pride events. Sixteen-year-old Shira Banki was stabbed to death by an extremist Yishai Schlissel who went on a rampage injuring another five people. Now, Jerusalem will honor the young girl and those injured by renaming Zion Square to Tolerance Square.

The square, which has been the site of protests and other gatherings, will be used to hold peaceful meetings and will be redesigned with the help of Banki’s mother who will serve on the board. [GSN]
