Today is a good day for gays in Ireland. April 5th marks the first day that civil partnerships will be made available to same-sex couples on the green isle.

The first couple to tie the knot in Dublin today were Hugh Walsh and Barry Dignam. The adorable couple have been together for 17 years.

Mr. Dignam is hopeful for the future of gays in Ireland saying “soon the people throwing stones will simply run out of targets.” Until then, feel free to dance a jig for the happy couples across the country today.
