‘Cocks Not Glocks’ Texas University Students Go Hard on Gun Control

Students at the University of Texas protested Texas’s new “campus carry” law that allows people to bring concealed handguns into the public university. While the concerns of many of the students have been unheard by administration and government, protesters decided to rally with a message that couldn’t be ignored. “They’re packing heat, we’re packing meat” at “Cocks Not Glocks: Campus (Dildo) Carry,”

The event was two-fold. It was also meant to draw attention to the absurdity of Texas’s lawmakers. While it’s ok to carry a gun, displaying sex toys in public is illegal under local indecency laws.

“We are fighting absurdity with absurdity,” said Jessica Jin, leader of the protest called “Cocks Not Glocks: Campus (Dildo) Carry.”  “Texas has decided it is not all obnoxious or illegal to allow deadly concealed weapons on campus. But walking around with a dildo could land you in trouble,” Jin said.

August 1st, became the first day that a law, passed through by Republicans, will allow handguns on campuses at any public college, as long as the person is a licensed gun owner and 21 years or older.
