A conservative group is alleging that Disney has declared “war” on Christianity after the company spoke out against Georgia’s proposed anti-gay religious freedom law that would have would have legalized discrimination. Georgia has become a hotbed for the entertainment industry, with multiple Disney-produced films expected to be shot there int he upcoming year, so the law was a concern for the multi-billion-dollar company. The group, Texas Values said: “Will Disney now ban you from wearing a cross outside your shirt at their parks? Will a Catholic priest be forced to remove his white collar when he takes a picture with Mickey Mouse? This is how extreme the attacks now are on religious freedom, it’s a zero tolerance policy for religious freedom.” [NBC]
Luckily the bill was ultimately vetoed.
