David LaChapelle Exhibits in London, Milan, and St. Moritz

A David LaChapelle exhibit that shines new light on the famed photographer has recently opened in London, Milan, and St. Mortiz. The exhibit, “Earth Laughs in Flowers,” which was first show at Hannover’s Kestnergesellschaft Museum, is being exhibited by ROBILANT + VOENA in its two galleries in London and Milian, as well as the Reformierte Dorfkirche, St Moritz. The ten-work series is said to explore “the vanity of life and beauty.” With titles like “Springtime,” “Late Summer,”  “Early Fall,” and “Deathless Winter,” the portrayal of the four seasons shows the artists’ take on the life cycle. Unlike LaChapelle’s best-known pieces of art that portray wild celebrity-focused fantasies, these pieces rethink traditional Baroque floral still life. What to a causal observer looks like a painting is actually a photograph. With a closer examination of the flora, viewers will take delight in finding contemporary objects, like barbie dolls and  burning cigarettes, incorporated into the works of art.
