For the first time in Disney Channel’s history, the network geared toward younger viewers will feature a storyline revolving around a two-mother household. The show, Good Luck Charlie, is Disney Channel’s first to try to capture both the adult audience as well as their traditional demographic.
According to a spokesperson:
This particular storyline was developed under the consultancy of child development experts and community advisors… Like all Disney Channel programming, it was developed to be relevant to kids and families around the world and to reflect themes of diversity and inclusiveness.
The episode will air sometime next year during the series’ final season.
