Global Earth Day Cocktail: Tazza di Vita

We’re sure after a long day of reducing, reusing, and recycling this Earth Day, you’ll be ready for a nice cocktail. Your do-good holiday spirit doesn’t need to be thrown in the trash once you pick up a bottle of booze. This Italian cocktail recipe uses Death’s Door Gin, a Wisconsin-based company that takes the environment into consideration with all their spirits. One percent of their profits goes toward helping local, green organizations all while using sustainable ingredients in their products.

.25 cup Cucumber
2 Mint sprigs
.25 oz Simple syrup (one part sugar, one part water)
2 oz Averna
.5 oz Death’s Door Gin
.25 oz Fresh lime juice
Club soda

In a shaker, muddle the mint, cucumber, and simple syrup. Add the Averna, gin, and lime juice, and fill with ice. Shake well and strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice. Top with club soda and garnish with a mint sprig and cucumber wheel.
