Next week on September 6, make sure to wear your most fashion forward outfit for an unforgettable night of style, shopping, and celebrity appearances at this year’s Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) in its birthplace, New York. Nearly every store will begin celebrating FNO at 6 P.M., and many will have specials deals, giveaways, and bubbly drinks and treats to indulge in. From the Upper East Side to SoHo, there will be over 1,000 different store events happening. Below are some highlights to check out as you store hop throughout the night. Upper East Side
Along with meeting the designer Michael Kors and celebrity guests at Michael Kors (667 Madison Ave.), you’ll also have a chance to shop for exclusive products and have your portrait taken by famed photographer Victor Demarchelier. Witness Kors Karaoke, where your favorite YouTube stars will compete in a karaoke contest judged by Michael and guest celebrity judges.
Visit Bloomingdale’s (1000 Third Ave.) to meet vampire hottie Kellan Lutz from the Twilight series sponsoring Charisma (seventh floor – Bedding). Gossip Girl’s Kelly Rutherford will be there supporting Magaschoni (third floor – The New View), and also the band Matchbox Twenty celebrating their new album North and their cover of the Bloomingdale’s Best of Men’s book (Men’s Lower Level). While at the Men’s Lower Level, join GQ Magazine for a personalized suiting event with the latest trends, and challenge ping pong pros from SPiN for a match, with winner receiving a gift from Fred Perry (Men’s Metro Level).

Celebrating its 111th anniversary, Bergdorf Goodman (754 Fifth Ave.) will be having one big birthday party. Lady Bunny will be spinning on the main floor to start the party off right as you enter. Visit the book launch party for Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf Goodman with author Sara James Mnookin and contributing designers like Bobbi Brown, Edward Bess, Lela Rose, Michael Bastian, Naeem Khan, Rachel Zoe, and Thakoon Panichgul; along with music by DJs AndrewAndrew (third floor). At the Men’s Store, discover the new Men’s Shoe Library and renovated floor with live music by jazz band The Blue Vipers of Brooklyn (third floor).
Henri Bendel (712 Fifth Ave.) will dazzle and delight guests with Cirque Du Soleil’s Zumanity. Transport yourself to Las Vegas with a live Zumanity performance and casino night theme night. Other attractions include Swarovski crystal customizable FNO t-shirts and phone cases. Enjoy cocktails by The Mulberry Project’s mixologists and munch on food from some of the city’s favorite food trucks.
Cyndi Lauper and Manolo Blahnik USA invite you to celebrate FNO and Cyndi’s new musical, Kinky Boots. Come to Manolo Blahnik (31 West 54th St.) and watch Cyndi give a special performance, but make sure to get there early; Cyndi goes on at 9 P.M.
Meet the always-stylish Darren Criss from Glee at Saks Fifth Avenue (611 Fifth Ave.) along with special guests for a signed copy of Vogue’s September issue. Oscar de la Renta will also be present, launching his new fragrance, Essential Luxuries. Enjoy a night of art with Kimberly Ovitz and Rihanna’s tattoo artist, Josh Lord of East Side Ink to collaborate on custom designs to be painted on guests that night; and Crayola, who will host artists carvings into jumbo-sized crayons and sculptor making. Partake in the airbrush graffiti wall and life-size paint-by-number.
Canadian retailer Joe Fresh (510 Fifth Ave) opened up their flagship a few months ago, and will be hosting an event its first FNO event. Joe Mimran (Creative Director of Joe Fresh) and Ralph Pucci (iconic mannequin designer) invite guests to enjoy a “Fresh Retrospective” of Pucci’s iconic mannequins. Music and a performance by DJ Ms. Nix, and drinks and refreshments will be served.
A must stop is Lord & Taylor (424 Fifth Avenue). Catch Kim Kardashian on the third floor promoting her True Reflection fragrance. Meet TV Personality/Entrepreneur Jill Zarin as she shows her new jewelry collection, and receive an autographed photograph (second floor). Also, celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Project Runway while meeting current and past designers (fourth floor); meet Olympian and author Kristi Yamaguchi as she signs complimentary Tsuya tote bags (second floor); and see NYC’s bravest from the 2013 New York City Firefighter’s Calendar and receive a complimentary signed calendar with any purchase (fifth floor). Throughout the night take part in the lockbox contest, where you are given a key to see if it unlocks special prizes throughout each floor.
Join Macy’s Herald Square (151 West 34th Street) for a full night of events. Witness what the ultimate shoe closet holds by Vogue, followed by a fun fashion trivia quiz with fashion designer Michael Kors (second floor – Shoes). Meet Real House Wives of New York’s Bethenny Frankel (sixth floor – Intimates) and Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Albie Manzo (fourth floor – Activewear), and make your own FNO flipbook (third floor – Impulse). The men’s lounge event will include cigar rolling, vodka tasting, and is hosted by Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ Scott Disick (third floor – Men’s).
SoHo and Downtown
Designer Christian Siriano will appear for a meet and greet at his first new Flagship concept store, Christian Siriano (252 Elizabeth Street). He will sign a limited run of handbags and accessories, and pose for photos. All attendees who make a purchase will be entered automatically to win a chance for two tickets to his Spring 2013 fashion show on Sept 8 or a $250 gift certificate to shop in store. Drinks will be served, and music provided by Brad Walsh and a special guest DJ.
Harney & Sons SoHo (433 Broome Street) is hosting a tea party featuring musical artist Shontelle Layne, who appeared at our Pride party this year. Along with having the opportunity to meet Shonetelle and enjoy exquisite tea, also view the launch of her new footwear line with CAT.
