While France debates whether same-sex couples should have the right to marry and adopt, French ELLE magazine revealed their opinion on the cover of their Jan. issue. An image of a beautiful lesbian couple graces the cover and under them appears the words Mariage Pour Toutes (Marriage For All). France currently allows for civil unions for gay couples, but President Francois Hollande has pledged to extend those rights. President Hollande’s equality bill has been opposed by over 1,000 mayors and is up for debate in Parliament this month. Adoption is not permitted to civil union couples, only married couples are allowed to adopt in France. French Elle’s “Marriage for All!” issue hits newsstands Jan.18.
