Gay Actors & Roles Receive Numerous Emmy Nominations

Earlier today, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences released the full list for this year’s Emmy nominations, showing once more that when it comes to television, the gays are always there to lend a helping hand.

Jane Lynch once again is nominated for her portrayal of out-of-control gym teacher Sue Sylvester on Glee while Jim Parsons is also a returning favorite to win Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for The Big Bang Theory. Jesse Tyler Ferguson receives another nod for his role on Modern Family. HBO miniseries Behind the Candelabra, which was deemed too gay by Hollywood execs, has both leads Michael Douglas and Matt Damon nominated as well as a shot at winning Outstanding Miniseries or Movie.

We wish these actors the best of luck and applaud them for bringing honest depictions of LGBT characters to a national audience and .
