Gay and lesbian couples, after a four-month wait, were finally able to get legally married today. After the bill was approved by Congress and signed by the president in May, the bill still had to wait 90 days before it came into effect. Today, the 90 days are up and couples across the country are becoming legally recognized. Uruguay, became the second South American country to grant marriage equality to its citizens. [BBC]
