Gay and lesbian groups in Hungary are angry over a proposed Hungarian bill that excludes gay and lesbian families from the definition of a “family.” Háttér Társaság a Melegekért (Background Society for Homosexuals) has reached out to the European Parliament and the Council of Europe because the new bill will “push hundreds of thousands of couples into a position of legal uncertainty.” According to a recent ruling by the European Court of Human Rights, all couples constitute a family, regardless of their sexuality.
