Alligator Bay Distillers, the Floridian craft rum distillery located in Punta Gorda, is a family-run business who makes delicious rum with pure molasses sourced only 70 miles east of the distillery. The head distiller and co-owner, Alex Voss, picked up the craft in 2012 during an apprenticeship with Haleakalā Distillers in Hawaii. There he honed his skills while gaining knowledge and experience in producing a rum using Maui molasses.
Years later, Alex took what he learned in Hawaii, brought it back to beautiful, sunny Punta Gorda and started Alligator Bay Distillers with his brother Ben (who you met at the event last Thursday). The rum that was served in the Ponce de Lada is the Alligator Bay Dark (Chocolate) Rum.

The Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach Official Rum Cocktail
- 2 oz Alligator Bay Dark (Chocolate) Rum
- 4 oz Pineapple Juice
- 1 oz Orange Juice
- 1 oz coconut cream
- Sprinkle of nutmeg
Mix contents/ingredients with ice in cocktail shaker, serve over ice and sprinkle with nutmeg. Cheers!
