Global Cocktail: The Jefferson Washington D.C.’s TJ-Snodgrass

This October head to the historic The Jefferson Washington D.C. for a very-special cocktail treat. Thomas Jefferson, who was an indefatigable reader and writer,  knew his way around a good novel. So, The Jefferson D.C. is taking a page from his book, and celebrating “The Year of the Author” with monthly books and literary libations at Quill bar that spotlight the work of celebrated authors. And a “preface” to the upcoming series (that will take place throughout 2014) will commence this month with the “TJ-Snodgrass” cocktail, a  tribute to Mark Twain who used the pen name, and nod to Thomas Jefferson, early in his career in the 1850s.

Ingredients

1 ounce Bison Grass Vodka

0.25 oz. Dewars Whiskey

0.25 oz. Lemon Juice

0.25 oz. Simple Syrup

1 dash  Peychauds Bitters

Top with Prosecco

Procedure

Combine all ingredients except the Prosecco and Stir. Top with Prosecco. Garnish with a Brandy Cherry in the bottom of the glass.
