GLSEN to Honor Matt Bomer, Jeffrey Katzenberg, & More

The Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN) announced it will honor DreamWorks Animation co-founder and CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg and his wife Marilyn Katzenberg, as well as White Collar and Magic Mike star actor Matt Bomer and his partner, respected Hollywood publicity executive Simon Halls at its eighth annual Respect Awards in Los Angeles on Friday, October 5 at the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel, which celebrated 100 years this past May.

Held in LA or NYC each year, the Respect Awards showcase the work of corporations, individuals, students and educators who have made a significant difference in the areas of diversity, inclusion and the safe schools movement, and who serve as exemplary role models. “GLSEN is thrilled to honor these incredible supporters who have worked to advance our vision to make schools safe and affirming for all students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression,” GLSEN Executive Director Eliza Byard said.

Marilyn and Jeffrey Katzenberg will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award to for their immeasurable contribution and leadership to the community over the years; both are longtime supporters of the LGBT community with a shared conviction of overcoming prejudice and intolerance through their commitment to several organizations. The Inspiration Award is going to Matt Bomer and Simon Halls for their commitment to family and causes they care for, including GLSEN.
