The Ali Forney Center in Manhattan is asking for support this holiday season, to help the many LGBT homeless youth in great need of shelter. In New York City, 40% of the 3,8000 homeless youth are gay or lesbian, many driven from their homes in rejection from their families with nowhere to go.
In the campaign to draw attention to this serious plight, the series “Homeless for the Holidays” has been created, chronicling stories of homeless LGBT youth in the city. Leading up until the New Years, a new photo series, paired with a first-person narrative will be released every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, telling the stories of homeless that were recorded within the past two months.
