Dolly Parton’s Dollywood has been on our travel bucket list for quite some time now, but after a lesbian was told her gay-rights shirt was offensive to families, we may have to change our Tennessee mountain home dreams and find another over-the-top theme park to put on our list. Lesbian couple Olivier Odom and and Jennifer Tipton were busy enjoying their day exploring the park when an employee asked Odom to turn her shirt inside out because it was a “family park.” Odom was unaware that her same-sex marriage shirt that read “Marriage is so gay” could possibly be construed as offensive. Not wanting to cause a scene, though, she complied. “That’s what we found so offensive, that he said it was a family park,” Tipton said. “Families come in a wide range of definitions these days and we were with our family.” [AP]
What does Dolly have to say about this? We’ll let you know as soon as we find out.
